Being a Championship, penalties will be given to drivers that break the rules. If you feel someone has bumped you and you crashed or whatever, PM me AFTER the race and we will investigate. NO CHAT IN THE CHATBOX DURING THE RACE. THIS IS A FINAL WARNING!!

Re: DTM CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON 1 ROUND 1
Great racing last night and a fine way to start the Championship.
Race 1:
Got off to a fair start and all drivers made it round the first corner without too much trouble. Being steady on this track was the best way to go as the times were very close.
Kept a consistent speed and had a bit of a long pit stop due to a bit of damage touching a barrier. Managed a 3rd place after Fransie got a stop and go for speeding in the pits.
Race 2:
Bit of a disaster. Taking evasive action, hit a barrier and damage on 3rd lap. Long pit stop and drove the rest of the race on one set of tires. Ended up 6th.
See you all next week and thanks for a great evening.

Re: DTM CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON 1 ROUND 1
To say that we did 1000's of practice laps on a fairly easy track is an understatement. However, with only a few corners it still remained a very technical track and to pick up good times required a lot of concentration. Lap times were very close and with Liveracers now up and running, everybody wanted the fastest time and top speed!!!
Race 1: I only managed a 4th place on the grid after qualifying, later discovered I did it with a full tank of fuel. Started well and was behind Migs and Eugene through the first corner. With them fighting for position they were slow and I was waiting for mistakes to happen. This did happen and gave me the opportunity to take over the lead. I then was pacing myself to stay clear of Eugene. Halfway through the race I lost it into the pit lane entry (even though Kevin warned us to be careful AND me practicing it many times) on my way to my pit box.
No problem, I thought as I had a big lead. But all went wrong in my not thinking mind. I thought, don't repair the damage as it will take long to repair (I had not bonnet left and the suspension was presumably also damaged). So I changed tyres, fuel up and left the pits. SADLY the car was so damaged that it took me forever to complete one lap to get in the pits again, this time making sure to enter it slow enough not to touch sides. There were no thinking about safety when whoever designed this pit entrance, must talk to Bernie about it!!! Where was I? O yes, so I entered my pit box, got more fresh rubber but the mechanics did not fix my damage - damn. I forgot to change the setting to REPAIR ALL DAMAGE. So it was another slow lap with a very damaged car. At least this time I remembered to change to REPAIR ALL DAMAGE..... The 3rd pit stop went fine but I fell back to last of the runners except for poor-old-fast Migs who was behind. As there were still some 10 laps remaining, I made no mistakes to work my way up to 4th place. MAN, I had this win in my pocket...
Race 2: For qualifying I remembered to take some fuel out the tank and found myself in 2nd place behind Migs (again on pole) when the 10 minutes qualifying session was up. This time I was quick off the line and out-brake myself through the chicane. Maybe I was scared someone was going into my back as a LOT of cars was in my rear view mirrors. Luckily I kept it straight and continued to lead with Migs in close proximity. Somehow Migs was a careless-wild-Ayrton Senna type of racer on this track so he made mistakes and fell behind. Now it was Eugene on myass backside whom I had to watch out for. Every time he passed me I out dragged him along the never-ending looooong back straight, but I was determined to keep him behind. Halfway through I pitted, entering the pit lane very very very slow like 10kph. With no damage I had a super fast pit stop. I found myself back in the lead after all the pit stops were done, managing my lap times justfast enough to keep Eugene behind. He finally dropped to about 4 seconds behind when I crossed the finish line in 1st place. Finally I got my reward for a flawless race.
Well done to Eugene and everyone else who entered as it was seriously a demanding track with close racing and 100% commitment through the kinky bits!!! Thanks to ShadowRacingRsa for hosting the event.
If you want close racing with a bunch of nice clean racers in awesome cars, this is the Championship for you to join.
