Penalties from round 1 - Nurgurgring

1. Christo - No qualify for first race of round 2 for late breaking in race 1 and causing a collision.

Kevin - sorry out for this round

Soooo, that was interesting for my first online races. Had decent pace with P6 in Q1, lost 2 positions at the start and got 2 back shortly after that. Got into a nice little battle with Shawn, while picking up some more spots from collisions in front of us. However, ended up with a drive-through for track limits, which threw me back a bit.

Race 2 went from bad to worse. After my HUD dissappeared my PC started to freak out, so restarting it meant starting last. Had a nice start, gained 3 positions, but a few laps into the race I hit Timo in turn 3, and from there on it all went backwards. Drove behind Shawn again, but he started to pull away from me, which led to a gap of 7,5 seconds to both the car in front and behind. Lost a lot of time in the pit due to reparing damage, and got another track limits drive-through.

All together I enjoyed online racing, and I think it were 2 races which I learned a lot from, so hopefully I'll be able to join again for one of the next 3 races, and get some better results!

Last nights race 11 Aug. was real looking forward to have a decent race, but there it happens again, at the start 2 cars spun in front of me long before the 1st corner and unfortunately i could not avoid a collision, this wrecked my car, i requested a restart but in-vain i was ignored, It seems that if u are a back marker u do not get cociderd. This seems to be the trend through out all racing (Acetto / P cars / Automobilista ext.) On the previous race 4th Aug i was just pushed of the track on my 3rd lap . so gents thanks for your entertaining company. but i will not race with guys again

I realize it's frustrating when your car is wrecked through no fault of your own.
The two cars you speak of were also damaged, one of them being me. Straight into the wall from a bump from behind. Luckily I could continue.
Nobody said anything until the end of lap one, by then, too late to restart. This is league racing and the same thing as in real life, if half the field is wiped out, then yes, we would restart. It's fine to restart a few times during fun races, but it's not fair to all the other drivers if only one driver crashes out.
We have looked at the replay, and I agree, it sucks to be taken out that way. There was still the main race to come, no need to come on TS and argue with me while I'm trying to drive a damaged car either.
That being said, we would like you to drive with us none the less. Please understand that this is league racing and nobody damaged your car on purpose. All leagues have the same policy regarding restarts.
Please reconsider.

I agree with Kev, having restarts will ALWAYS be good for some and bad for the other - so you end up having unhappy people. It is unfortunate when you get taken out the way you were - and I am sure real racers have had the same stuff happen to them as well (Vettel & Kuvyat in F1 Russia 2016 for example)
You can only penalize the other guy if the fault was deliberate - but as a League admin Kev cannot afford to make people leave because they are in front or have a great start then the session is restarted because 1 person had bad luck.

The best way to try and avoid this is to try and anticipate what the other drivers will do - I usually do a few races offline against the AI because there is no better practice avoiding damage than that.

On the up side - it was fun driving with you guys even though I am no good with the Tin Tops. I really hope you guys will join us on Mondays for a bit of Open Wheel racing. Too bad it is just two short races and not a longer race like the DTM's.
It is sad that some of the guys were unhappy and left because of incidents and they felt the punishment wasn't enough - but it is difficult because you'll end up chasing someone away no matter which way it goes.

Just remember this is only a game and it only cost time... the rest is free entertainment. The only person really spending more time and money than us is Kev - so lets not make it a pain in the ass for him please guys. Let's rather be grateful that someone is willing to host these events for us to enjoy.
