I thought of something similar the other day, not for F1 but to change cars per race, slowly get better cars lol. Kind of cool as a fun thing to do!

It's a good idea, however, it takes a lot of time and practice to be fast in one type of car and the guys don't really have the time. The driving style is different for most of the cars.
As a fun event, no problem, but for a serious championship, not now I think, too many good mods coming out soon.
