Thursday 4th Sept Formula reiza BRANDS HATCH

Hello.

Due to texture problems on the Silverstone track that caused FPS drop, it has been decided to use BRANDS HATCH for this race........

Start time: 8pm SA (GMT+2)

Format:

Qualify:
Race 1=20 minute unlimited laps followed by 5 minute session to do race setup.
Race 2= 10 minute unlimited


Race:
2x30 minute races WITH pit stop. Pit stop not allowed on last lap.
Standing start.

The usual league rules apply.

Let me start working on my setup for that race.

Will probarbly only make race one, leaving for Jozi friday morning, but will see how things go on the night.

Trying to find where I got it. No luck yet.

I know, but this is the version most of the guys have and we will have to upgrade all tracks from Saturday.

No problem.

Setup is going to be key with this track. Narrow & lots tricky bumps to unsettle the car.

Agree with Gert, so more reason for me to get lotssss of practice laps in......

Let me try this again. typed up report & then got DNS error.

WD to all the guys last night. Was not easy on that track very unforgiving.

Race 1:
Q: 1 R: 1
WE restarted the first race as we all got booted from the server. The restart I was not that fast of the line as Razor uses manual clutch that has it's advantage on the start. I pulled a daring passing move on him early on in the race on Sheene Curve that force Razor of the track(Sorry again buddy) I then slowed down to let him pass but a few guys had passed him so I did not want to wait to long. I was then in 3de place I wen tabout chansing down Christo & Spider. As I was on the inside of Christo just before Clearways He got held up by slow people that allowed me to pass him. Managed to pass them early on in the race. Made some silly mistakes that cost me a bit of time. I then kept in within my fastest pace to get to the end.

Race 2:
Q: 1 P: 1
Because of the incident with Razor in race 1 I decided to start race 2 from the back of the field. I started very slowly cause I did want to run into the back of anyone. I just raced patiently to get to P3. guys mae mistakes that gifted me the positions early on. I then made a mistake that cause damage to the car early on. Went in to do a pit for new tyres & repair damage.
Came out way behind Spider & Razor. Just tried to keep it on the raod & not push to hard & make mistakes. Spider piited late as Raazor pitted to get car fixed from accident. That put me in P1.

Track is very unforgiving.  WD to all the guys who finished the race.

Well, well......Brands is a very technical circuit with no room for lapses in concentration. Your lines need to be on the mark if you want to sustain your lap times. I really enjoyed the racing, and got at P3 and a P2, which is the best result I've had since joining this league. I've always had a preference for the open wheelers, and I guess my lap times and result kinda proves it. I was actually running in 1st for quite a while in the second race, but still had to pit. Well done to all and thanks again for all the time and effort that the admins put in to making our league great ! Looking forward to the 2014 cars which I expect are going to be a handful with both DRS and ERS options to keep you busy in the cockpit....not to mention actually driving !! Let's wait and see.......
