Re: FORMULA REIZA ROUND 7 22nd AUGUST
A real toughie for this week, tight corners and not much space all around the track, going to be very interesting racing and pit stops will play a huge roll as passing, for my skill level anyhow, is very tough

Re: FORMULA REIZA ROUND 7 22nd AUGUST
Well not really the race i was looking for as i made too many fundamental errors, like an idiot.
Choosing to go with softs would have worked out okay if i did not have so many unscheduled pit stops for repairs.
The circuit, challenging as it is, can make for great racing if one keeps a steady head and race within it's limitations.
A great win again for Denis..well done:D and super racing for the podium finishers...Dereck and Gert.

Re: FORMULA REIZA ROUND 7 22nd AUGUST
Another long, tough one.
Got off to the best start of the season and moved up to 5th just before the first pit stop. Great close racing with Gary and Hennie. Thanks guys for driving like gentlemen.
Actually thought I was good for a top 6 finish, but alas....as usual, on lap 26 made a moron mistake and took the nose off the car. After pitting and putting on Medium tires to get to the end, I just tried to steady things and finish. Came in 10th.
Had a bad moment when my internet disconnected for a few seconds and I was thrown off Teamspeak. Somehow, the game stayed connected and it had to be just as Denis in first place was right behind me. So sorry for that, at least it kept you on your toes...LOL
Thank you to all that took part and well done to all.
See you at Sochi next week.

The view from behind
An extract from a backmarkers diary
My word what a track, and I don’t mean in the good sense.
The tight spaces that is Singapore made for a tough race, one that test drivers skill and patients, and this is one of those tracks you just happy to finish, no matter where, a finish deserves a pat on the back.
When Qualifier started I was still in euphoria mode, after the Lions gave the Sharks a bit of a whipping, so I couldn’t concentrate enough to even attempt a hot lap.
Denis clearly didn’t have any issues concentrating as he put down an impressive 1:31.275 as the fastest for the day, amazeballs that this fella is consistently quick, no matter track or conditions, wonder if he can dance?
In teamspeak, come on fellas come join us next time, on the grid, last puff of a smoke, sip of “coldrink” ready for business, and we’re off, lets go go go.
Had a good jump on the line, but tried to be cautious through the bends and behind folks as I really wanted to finish this time around, me and Singapore are not really the greatest of friends, as before this one it was only 2 finishes in four races.
Managed to climb to 7th on the 7th lap, but decided to pit early for two reasons, was scared to pit block Gert and had an idea, the idea was to put on Hard tyres, now before you go, “you dumbass” I knew the Hards could last about 23-25 laps before being completely shot, yes I did do practice runs on Hard and Medium, so I took a gamble with the Hard set, and to be honest not sure if it worked a little or was a complete flop.
17 laps on the Hard set later, I went into the pit in 9th spot, and a little confused as to how I managed to keep the car on the black stuff with 4 soap bars for wheels.
Back on Softs I went hard for a few laps, even had a massive dice with Kevin, think I had the pace but struggle to go around him safely, even managed to bump my teamie when he was coming out of the pits, sorry again tjomma.
I managed to get hold of the 7th place again, with Marius ahead of me, I tried my best to catch up with him, had a few close shaves with the walls, and decided to back off, I had fuel light on with 3 laps to go, so thank F**cK I got lapped twice to be honest
Again well done to Denis on a superb race, and big high five to Dereck and Gert for finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Massive thanks to Singapore Power for ensuring the lights stayed on for the race.
See you guys at Sokkie.
Have i said before I love these open wheelers
If you in JHB and fancy a round of golf, please assist my friend, Etienne, he is in serious need of funds to continue his rehabilitation after a massive motorbike accident in March. He suffered a broken neck and back amongst others, and is working hard to get back his life. I would appreciate if you guys could forward this to friends and family in JHB that will enjoy hitting the little white thing for a good cause http://www.golfguysevents.co.za/iwmsa/index.php/component/rsform/form/3-rsvp
