I'll practice tonight after my international races...hope to see you guys then!
Re: MARCAS CHALLENGE ROUND 6 KYALAMI 2014 1 JULY
I hear what you say. We used to do formation but the drivers found it better to do standing.
We will see for the next series. We can't change while we busy with the current series.

Re: MARCAS CHALLENGE ROUND 6 KYALAMI 2014 1 JULY
I do formation laps in the GPVWC...its kinda fun and real, does mean more fuel in the car for a extra lap so thats another thing to consider for races with cars that cant be filled during a race like the F3's. You can also miss your start position and get penalty (yes i did this once haha) and it is like a build up lap or calm before the storm.
But a cool idea I'd go with or without it.

Re: MARCAS CHALLENGE ROUND 6 KYALAMI 2014 1 JULY
The reason we stopped it is because the guys kept overtaking during warmup lap or they spun out and battled to get to the starting grid again.
It sounds easy, but believe me, keeping drivers from overtaking or spinning tires till they off the track in reality, are two different things, they NEVER stay in position or they ride into the car in front.
We will try again in the next series and see what happens.

Re: MARCAS CHALLENGE ROUND 6 KYALAMI 2014 1 JULY
That was a enjoyable round. Track was very nice thank you Eugene for creating a real gem sorry you were not able to enjoy it with us.
I was expecting Ryan to be super fast here and then fit myself in 3rd or 4th somewhere but somehow i got pole for race 1 and P2 for race 2.
Race 1 i was able to pull a gap as Ryan made a small mistake and after recovering had to fight in a pack and then pitted early to avoid lag issues. By then i was ahead enough...and cruising till i pitted and saw him within 3 seconds...at that point i always drove off the track haha. I put my head down from there and got the win.
Race 2 i got a good start and got along side Ryan but gave way into turn 2 and slotted in behind Ryan and thats how it stayed for along time. I eventually made a small mistake and lost a few seconds to Ryan. Nearing the end my pace started to pick up again and i was keenly watching the gap to Ryan then did my pit stop...never to see Ryan again! As luck had it Ryan got disconnected. What a real shame as that was a easy win in the bag lost. Really sorry for Ryan so i picked up a lucky win in race 2.
Well done to the guys, nice clean races and starts form my point of view. So far my 2 favourite rounds for these cars are both local tracks that Eugene created for us Aldo Scribante and Kyalami really are fun.
See you guys at the next one. Thanks to Shadow Racing for hosting a great race meeting.

Re: MARCAS CHALLENGE ROUND 6 KYALAMI 2014 1 JULY
The round at Kyalami went very well.
I would like to thank Eugene for all of his hard work on the track and I am really heart-sore he was not able to race with us. I can however tell you that the track was a huge success and I think most of the drivers really enjoyed driving there. It really suited these cars in my opinion.
I started going much quicker during the two races than when I did some practice before the race. Was a bit lonely towards the back of the field though and I really need to pick up the pace for the next round.
Thank you all who took part and well done Denis on some good driving. I also feel sorry for Ryan who is the driver to catch in this series. I'm sure he will be super fast for the next round. Bad luck my buddy!
Thank you all.

Re: MARCAS CHALLENGE ROUND 6 KYALAMI 2014 1 JULY
Not sure why I was off pace on this track but I just could not find a decent time and rhythm. With a mid field qualifying session I at least did well to end up more towards the front.
With Ryan's game hanging (not disconnected as I thought) and mistakes from other guys, I at least progress to second place in the race. Glad that Dirk liked the track to get a good result, or is it a case of finally get to grips with the cars? WD Denis with you win for both races.
See you all at the next event.
