Sim Into Reality
Hey there guys. I know it has been a while since i have posted on ShadowracingRSA, but as you all might know and have possibly seen on Facebook, we have added triple screens to our Motion Simulators at the shop. The experience is absolutely EPIC!!! Ryan has popped in to try them and was blown away. So for the guys up here in joburg, you have to come through and give them a try.
Also we have this wild competition that we have started. All the comp details are posted below, followed by a link to the site where you will be able to see the Top 10 times sheet.
Website Competition Link
Competition Information:
Simtec Racing, in association with SavSpeed Racing, will be running a competition. Sav Gualtieri, owner of SavSpeed will be building a 300BHP race spec, BMW race car for this awesome competition. Updates regarding the building stages of this race car will be published on our website and Facebook page, so that everyone can see the car being built. The top 10 fastest guys will go to the BMW Car Club track day, at Kyalami, to race this purpose built race car around this legendary local race track. This will give the winners a real racing car experience where they will be able to compare Virtual Reality Simulation experience to the real race car and track experience.
Structure/How to qualify:
Anyone from ages 16+ can compete in a time trial race in our Full Motion Racing Simulators. The aim of this competition is to set the fastest possible time around our virtual Kyalami race track. The top 10 fastest lap times will be announced as the competition winners in store, as well as on our social media platforms and website. They will then go to the track, on the BMW Car Club race day, and have a true race car driver experience. Each of the top 10 drivers will race in the race car, along with Sav for guidance and professional racing advice.
As part of this competition, we are also offering the same experience to the top 10 young adults (ages 10-15 years). They will compete against other young adult times to qualify for the top 10 in their category. The top 10 drivers, with the fastest set lap times, will then go to the track with his/her parents and will be set up in the passenger seat of the race car and taken around the track. The car will be driven by Sav Gualtieri who is a professional South African race car driver. This section of the competition is an awesome father-son experience, where they both stand a chance to share a track day experience together. Dad will drive the car and son will be taken for a spin by a professional driver, getting the adrenalin pumping and making awesome memories.
Terms and Conditions:
The entry fee for this competition is R 500.00 per person entering. This fee will get you 30 min in our Full Motion Racing Simulator. You will race in the competition car, replicated to the specs of the actual race car you will be racing in, on the track day. The main objective here is to set the fastest time that you possibly can. All flag rules and race conditions will be in full simulation (This will provide for a great challenge). The winners names will be announced on our social media platform, website and via SMS.
The entry fee for the young adults (Ages 10 - 15), is R 400.00 per person entering. They will then race in one of our Motion Rigs for 30 min, in the same car and track as the contestants competing in the Full Motion Simulators. The top 10 young adults will then go to the track day and be taken around the track, with Sav.
The winners of this competition, will have an additional charge of R 1 200.00 pp on the day they go to the track. This covers the track day expenses. (This additional track day cost is over and above the entry fee for the competition).
· The R 1 200.00 pp Track entry fee is valid for the Simulator winners and R 600.00 pp for the Motion Rig winners.
· Contestants for the Simulators must be 16 years of age or older.
· Contestants/ young adults for the Rigs must be between 10 - 15 years of age, and will require parental consent to enter the competition.

· Competition Starts 25th May 2015 12H00.

· Track day will be on the 10th October 2015.
