Mmm...Thought I was doing ok times
I seem to be dropping lower and lower on the liveracers list! Bad driving? Or are you guys just getting much faster?
Have to have another go tonight.

I was expecting there to be total carnage with a big field on this track but I didn't see any. Well done to everyone for an intense race. The pace was near the limit.

Re: SGT500 CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 4 SUGO 28th JAN
Was great to see a field of 21 cars. Makes the racing more intense.
Good driving by all the drivers and the new members did very well.
My evening was a bit of a disaster.
Got DC during the first race just after my pit stop in 8th place.
Second race I was bumped into a wall, which put me at the back of the field by almost a lap. That's racing and some days it comes together and some days it doesn't. Finished well down the field and just glad we move on to a longer, wider track next week.
Thank you all for taking part and see you for the next one.

Good fun in the first time out. Was a bit of a rush to get everything done and adjusted in time. A big thanks to Marius, Ken, Dennis and Gavin for the help during the night and setup tweaks.
Took a while to learn the new track and often found myself turning in the wrong direction
Qualy:
I did not actually mean to set a competitive time, as i was wanting to start at the back to get used to things. Forgot and ended up 8th or so.
Race 1:
I got a good start and took it easy in the first few turns. Mainly because of the ICE warnings and seeing as i had never done a lap 1 in the sim. Unfortunately i might have taken it too easy and got a tap from behind going into T4 (i think). This sent me into a Rothmans car and he also ended up spinning. Apologies to whomever that was, it was out of my control. Fell to the rear of the field while trying to get safe passage on to the track. From there on i had soem good battles with Marius, Ken and Timo and finally made it back to P9 or 8 or somewhere there.
Qualy 2:
Did a PB and found myself on P4. No idea how, but will take it.
Race 2:
No bumps and i could settle in quickly. I was able to sneak past SteveS off the line, and then immediately lost that position to Razor. Spent the rest of the race trying to catch Razor and keep SteveS behind. Was able to maintain and finally finished in 4th.
Really liking the cars and the track kept a driver nice and busy.
Really good fun and look forward to Suzuka.

Re: SGT500 CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 4 SUGO 28th JAN
this was 2 hard races for me,
in first race i had to fight with the car and the curbs and i did make lots of mistakes, but lucky for me i still did come 2nd in finish.
in 2nd race i had to fight with dennis, in 1st stint to try to stay with him close and in 2nd stint to hold him behind me, which was very difficulty with this cars and in this difficulty track,
always be on limit was a very much adrenalin push.
i am happy with 2nd and 1st place, realy happy with this.

Wow! What a great experience!
Thanks everyone for keeping it on the black stuff! (Mostly )
My mission was to finish the race in one piece and I succeeded! Thanks to Ken, Kevin, Craig and Marius for great hard and clean racing and for keeping cool heads!
I was absolutely exhausted after race 1, so had to skip race 2 unfortunately + had to go to shop, ran out of milk formula for my son.
Thanks also to Denis for sharing his wealth of knowledge and somehow whilst in 1st place, have enough time to communicate to the would be lappers not to worry about him
Awesome... what a talent.
Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks to all the Admins!

Re: SGT500 CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 4 SUGO 28th JAN
Indeed, such a big field provides big fun and a challenge for every skill level. In the past I had sometimes had lonely races, too slow for the top guys but too fast for the others. Nowadays there is always somebody driving more or less at my pace
I really struggled to find a pace here, expecially corner entry was problematic (one lap too early, next lap too late...), so i also used Q1 to test race pace and qualified P12 or so. I had a good start, did a few overtakes and then enjoyed a race-long time-lap battle with marcelS, who was 2 seconds before me in the first stint and 2 seconds behind me in te second stint. So a nice race with no major mistakes and a few positions gained.
Q2 I qualified better, but was tapped by somebody in the first corners (can happen with so many cars) and had to recover from about the last place. Don´t remember how I finished but it was fun anyway.
Looking forward to Suzuka!
PS: thanks to Christo for sharing his setup, it brought me from nowhere to a bit closer to somewhere

Re: SGT500 CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 4 SUGO 28th JAN
Iv not been to happy with these cars the last 2 tracks, but here i really found them more fun, plus i do like the track so that always helps.
Race 1 kind of fell in my lap. I got a decent enough start from 1st on the grid but Reinhard got a flyer...so had to go around Reinhard into turn 2. Seemed like my setup was good on new tires and Reinhards good on worn tires...so i got a good lead going then the pits came and unlucky for Reinhard the game made his a 58km limit while i was 78km..so came out the pits with a big lead and just took it easy home.
Race 2...So much traffic and in 10 minutes it was going to be a challenge to get a good clean lap, and Reinhard did just that throwing down a great challenge...and on my final run i had it all going...warm tires, low fuel, rythym in check...and then when up by about 0.3 on my time which was aiming for possibly 0.1 faster than Reinhard...traffic lol. Still have a great dice with Reinhard, who ultimately had better pace at the end and i was not able to keep up as the tires went off. I tried maybe too hard in the early stages knowing this, hoping to get by then hold him back but ruined my tires but still managed a 1st and 2nd so very good meeting!
Love Suzuka so hoping its also a good meeting, see you all there!
Well done to the new guys, Craig great results and pace...and all the other guys well done in keeping it as clean as possible. Timo, good to have you hear and a pleasure to be able to help hope you back for lots more!
